Bowls: pairs play off in regional finals

BDBD state champion of champions pairs divisional winners played off in the regional finals at Bacchus Marsh Bowls Club.Donna Robinson and Tanya Hearn, representing Ballarat District Bowls Division, won the semi-final and went on to win the final against Goldfields pair Loretta Parker and Marg Davies, 19-9.The winners now go on to play the state game at Bendigo.The Ballarat club champion of champions pairs at divisional level final was Beth Huntley and Sue Woolcock (Creswick) against Kitty Bulic and Pauline Currie (Invermay).Invermay broke away 20-11 at 18 ends having been tied at nine-all on the 13th end.They now go on to regional level at Maryborough Highlands on February 26.Next round of The Courier fours to be played at City Oval on February 17, 9.30am registration.Section (1): (s) B Toth (Creswick)Section (1): (s) L Votarans (Daylesford)Section (1): (s) F Grady ( Creswick)Section (1): (s) E Cosgrove (Smeaton)Section (1): (s) J 1-larman (Sebastopol)Section (1): (s) B Huntley (Creswick)Byes are to be registered by 11-30 am (s) B Toth and (s) B HuntleyQuarter-final and semi -finals will be played on this day, with the final played February 28.The coach for bowlers attending the Australian Open on February 24 leaves Webbcona at 7am.
