BALLARAT’S Chloe McIntosh has led her national series road racing team to a thrilling victory.McIntosh, who is in her first season with Torq-Bicycle Superstore, crossed the line first in Sunday’s Women’s Grand Prix criterium race in Bendigo, securing the team’s first 2012 win.The 50-minute and three lap race at the Cykelevents-run Women’s Grand Prix cycling series at Bendigo East saw McIntosh just hold off Bendigo’s Cait Fraser in an exciting finish.“We all went in with a strong plan that after the first intermediate sprint we wanted to go really aggressively,” said McIntosh.“I was just in the right move at the right time, knowing the girls were doing a really good job in the bunch.“I did everything we could to pull off the win.”With inspired timing she executed a confident sprint finish to cross the line for the gold by just two-hundredths of a second.“I was stoked to get my first win for the season – very happy,” said McIntosh.The Ballarat cyclist has signed with Torq in her first season with a national series road racing team.
