DELA Assuntas will contest a 12th Athlete's Foot Cup grand final after a resounding preliminary final win over Dela Catalyst Chiropractic on Thursday night.Assuntas will take on the undefeated Brown Hill Blaze in the Ballarat Netball Association's premier league decider next week.Catalyst fought hard and produced some strong, impressive netball but was outplayed by the strength of the Assuntas, who ran away to record a 76-47 victory.Cindy Daniel was back to her state league best for the victors, with Lauren Quinlan showing herself to be one of the competition's best.Melissa Beaston, Johanna Dash, Bianca Woods, Cassie Hobbs and Amanda Clarke rotated through centre court to good effect, while Kate Schippers and Quinlan continued their strong bond in defence.Emma Farrell has run back to top form after missing the 2009 season.Catalyst centre Libby Purtell was a consistent performer and guided her team well, linking with Phoebe Knox and Sam Den Ouden in attack.Lisa McDonald came in from Premier Reserve to aid the team's defence, but despite a good second quarter, the Assuntas were too strong.Catalyst started the 2010 season as a firm favourite after recruiting some top netballers, but coach Katrina Griffiths had to keep her unit tight after losing Emma Henry, Catherine Maika and Jaime Wallace to season-ending injuries.Assuntas started the year slowly and did not impress until the final weeks of the home and away season. They showed glimpses of their best and with each match have started to look like a team ready to defend its title.THE young Dela WACS meet Sturt Emeralds in the Laffey Shield grand final after a gutsy win against Brown Hill Stars on Thursday night.Dela trailed by two goals at the final change, but clinched a 40-36 victory thanks to a 12-goal to six final term.Myff Jennings and Kelly Howard took control in the last quarter for the winners, intercepting to send the ball back to goal.
