LEXTON Plains Football League's member clubs have rejected a move to alter junior age groups in 2010.At the league's annual general meeting, clubs rejected the option of shifting under-14 and under-17 junior football grades to under-15 and under-18 competitions for next season. Under-12 competition was to remain.This will see the format of football stay the same in 2010.A second proposal was put forward to extend the current netball age divisions from under-12 and under-14 to a new under-13 and under-15 system.However, with just four of the eight member clubs having netball delegates present at the meeting, the vote was delayed. All clubs will relay their decisions to the league in the coming weeks.The LPFL released its 2010 fixture at the meeting, which includes a return interleague clash with Maryborough Castlemaine District FL.After renewing the old rivalry at Ballarat's Eastern Oval in 2009, next season's clash will be held at Maryborough's Princes Park on Saturday, June 12.Other highlights of the draw included possible night and twilight matches at Ararat Eagles' Alexandra Oval, with the venue's new lighting near completion.Regular Sunday matches have also been included to assist in alleviating umpire shortages. Each club will play one home and one away Sunday fixture.Due to the number of teams in the competition, each club is required to play two opposition sides three times for the season. All clubs have drawn different opposition for these third clashes than it did in 2009.The senior football grand final rematch between reigning premier Skipton and Carngham-Linton will take place on Sunday, May 16 at Skipton.A grand final venue _ last season held at Learmonth _ is yet to be confirmed.
