TIM Bunning will lead the Ballarat Football League for the next two seasons as chairman of directors.
For the first time in several years, the league has filled all board vacancies and has a full complement of 10 board members for the 2004 season.
Brian Shorter, who was chairman for the 2002 and 2003 season, did not re-nominate for his position at the annual general meeting of the league.
Bunning, who has served on the Board for nine years, welcomed aboard new board members in - Michael Toner (Director of Operations), ex-Melton president Brian McNabb (Director of Events), Henk Wind (Director of Junior Football) and Mick Simpkins (Director of Netball). Other appoint
ments are Director of Finance David Smith, Director of Marketing and Inter-league Roger Le Grand, executive director and umpire liaison Shane Molloy, Director of Junior Football Robert Allan and Director of BFL Social Club Brian Shorter.
"We are excited to have a full and energetic board with a good mixture of experience and fresh faces," Bunning said.
"All new additions come to the Ballarat Football League with outstanding credentials and we are sure that the Ballarat league will go from strength-to-strength as a result of their involvement," he said.
At the AGM, league stalwarts Lloyd Sims and Adrian McKee also stepped down.
Mr Bunning said Mr Sims and Mr McKee have played an instrumental role in the progress of the league and Ballarat Leagues Club over many years.
"Few people have given Ballarat football greater service," he said.
* The league's new social club structure includes dual Redan premiership coach Brett Quinlan.
Although Quinlan will be overseas for much of next year, BFL CEO Rod Ward said Quinlan's experience in the hospitality industry would be vital in his input of functions, receptions at Saxon House and also the Ballarat Leagues Club.
Other members of the social club board to be lead by Mr Shorter are Roger Le Grand, Robert Allan, chairman Bunning and Lloyd Sims.
