Rachael O’Keane and Jacinta Jackson particularly urged Ballarat people heading to the Murray River to keep an eye out for the now 17-year-old, who disappeared from an Echuca campsite on September 1 last year.
On the Missing Donald Govan Facebook page, Rachael also asked people to look after each other if camping this Easter.
“When Donny disappeared while camping at the Murray our weekend started as excited as you are now but soon turned into the worst weekend of my life.
“It has been nearly seven months since I last saw my brother – unimaginable to many but this is my reality, so please, I beg, drive safe, take care of where you all are at all times and have a great Easter. Love Donny’s family,” the posting read.
Donny was camping with family and friends when he ran off into bushland about 8.30pm. He was last seen the next morning after an elderly woman gave him breakfast.
Donny is 170 centimetres tall with mousey-blond hair, hazel eyes and a light-coloured mole on his right cheek.
The family of missing Bannockburn woman Lorrin Whitehead has also appealed for any information into the mother-of-five’s disappearance.
Ms Whitehead, 43, failed to turn up for work on February 11.
The last known sighting of Ms Whitehead was CCTV footage on February 8 which showed her leaving a Bannockburn supermarket wearing black pants and a light-coloured shirt and carrying a bottle of water.
When her daughter Amelia Kaiser arrived at her home on February 11, Ms Whitehead’s front door was unlocked and her keys, purse and other personal belongings, including her diabetes medication, were still there.
Anyone with any information on either disappearance can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
