Premiership vice-captain Peter O’Connell, alongside other 1993 flag winners, will be present for the function held at the Eastern Oval after East Point’s round 13 match against Redan.
North Ballarat, then coached by Carlton great Jim Buckley, was aiming at its third straight premiership and 50th straight win, before East Ballarat stunned it 21.10 (136) to 16.10 (106) in the final.
“It’s probably the most talked about premiership in our history,” East Point football director Rick Wilson said.
“North Ballarat, at the time, were that much better than everyone else, and no one was supposed to be able to get near them.
“It’s an opportunity for the club’s members to recognise what a great achievement that grand final was, and also pay tribute to our golden era.”
The function will begin at midday at the East Point clubrooms, and overlooks East Point’s crucial round 13 match against Redan.
