SEBASTOPOL has vaulted into the top position of the Ballarat District Bowls division one midweek ladder, securing a three-shot victory over former ladder leader Central Wendouree A yesterday.

The home side put on a strong performance in perfect conditions to snatch a 68-65 shot victory and jump from third spot on the ladder and into first on 120 points and 46 shots.
Central Wendouree’s A side has lost its last two matches, with Smeaton defeating it in round 11 two weeks ago.
Sebastopol bounced back from a loss last week with two of three rinks tasting success.
Jenny Harman’s rink was ousted by Elizabeth Kierce’s four 15-21, but Jan Gordon and Joan Dunn’s teams both provided for Sebastopol, with Gordon’s four defeating Heather Hopkinson’s four 29-26, while Dunn’s rink beat Lyn Maple’s rink 24-18.
In other matches Smeaton defeated Midlands 70-68, while bottom placed Central Wendouree B beat Mt Xavier 84-61. Meanwhile Daylesford secured a comfortable 19-shot win over Webbcona, 89-70.
