Wimbledon champ on court in Ballarat this morning

REIGNING Wimbledon women's doubles champion Su Wei Hsieh hits Ballarat courts today in a crucial part of her preparations for next month's Australian Open.

The main draw for the Ballarat Gold AMT gets underway at Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre this morning.

Ballarat hope Zoe Hives, runner-up in the Australian under-18 girls singles earlier this month, will play from 11.30am.

French duo Vincent Stouff and Yvonnick L’Hurriec, hitting partners for French star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, will take to the courts at 10am for the singles competition.

Melbourne Renegades adopted Ballarat as their home base for Big Bash League preparations last weekend. Tonight we see how ready they are.

The Renegades launch their season against arch-rival Melbourne Stars at the MCG.

You saw them belt the ball well into Ballarat Bowls Club greens, you saw the legendary Muthiah Muralidaran has still got bite in his spin. Can they piece it together when it counts...?
