This year the BDTC takes the race night to a new level with the running of the $30,000 Laser Electrical Lightning Mile.
Carrying another $20,000 in time bonuses, the second edition of the group 3 feature has attracted an outstanding field.
All-time great and mile specialist Smoken Up is the headline act, with his presence ensuring the track record is under threat.
Reigning Ballarat Pacing Cup and AG Hunter Cup champion Mah Sish is also engaged along with another group 1 winner in Restrepo.
From the Smythes Creek stable of Emma Stewart, Restrepo is one of three Ballarat-trained starters, joining inaugural Lightning Mile winner Blucolla Tigerpie (trained by Michael Stanley) and back-to-back Gunbower and Yarra Valley Cups winner Savesomtimetodream (Paul Rowse).
