FIREFIGHTERS have been busy on a day of total fire ban, with severe fire conditions leading to a number of fires across the region.
More than 20 fire trucks have been working to put out a blaze at Tatyoon, with the grassfire still burning out of control. A watch and act message has been put out by the CFA for those near Porters Bridge Road.
Temperatures of 33 degrees and high winds, including a change of direction in the afternoon, had firefighters on alert all day.
Earlier in the day a small grassfire at the rear of some residential houses in Canadian also required the attendance of the CFA.
Fires have also been contained at Racecourse Road in Ercildoune, while an all clear message has been put out regarding a fire near Daylesford.
