Now she's back at home.
The four-year-old dog has returned home after spending two nights at the Wendouree clinic of the Ballarat Veterinary Practice.
Still very much on the road to recovery (she had to return to the vets again for further assessment), Tilly is becoming more active by the hour, according to her carers.
Lorraine and Tom Chambers said they were overwhelmed by support from the Ballarat community and could not thank surgeon Dr Richard Lawrence and the team of vet nurses enough for the care they showed.
Random phone calls, cash donations to cover veterinary bills and messages of support at thecourier.com.au have all warmed the Chambers' hearts.
"Everybody has been amazing, the support has been overwhelming," Mr Chambers said.
"A huge thank you has to go out to those who assisted at the scene, our neighbours and all those who have made numerous phone calls and Facebook expressions."
