More than 15 CFA tankers and the impressive Erickson fire-fighting sky crane ‘Malcolm’ were deployed to fight the grass fire which started on the western side of Cherry Flat Road, Delacombe, near Webb Road.
The fighter started about 1pm and was under control within an hour.
CFA operations manager Gavin Hope said the cause of the fire was still unknown.
“At this stage we don’t know what caused it, but we’ll keep working to find that out,” Mr Hope said.
