Ballarat breakfast report: March 24


The gloomy weather looks like continuing with a top of 18 degrees predicted for today with a chance of showers throughout the morning and afternoon. 

This weather looks like it might be around for a while with 22 degrees predicted for tomorrow and more showers later on this week.


Nothing to report from overnight. 

However, police are still  investigating a stabbing at Dereel on Saturday night. 

 The stabbing occurred at a Moffats Road premises around 9pm after a 36-year-old man had an argument  with someone known to him. 

Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit is investigating the matter.


A reasonably quiet night for fire crews with only the one call-out. 

A crew was sent to Ararat to help with an incident in the town. 

The appliance was needed specifically for the breathing apparatus equipment it carries on board. 


A quiet night for local paramedics with nothing of interest to report. 


The V/Line website is currently reporting god service for the Ballarat line.
