A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and trains in Melbourne's north have been disrupted after two drivers stopped to exchange details at a level crossing after a minor car accident.

Two cars were involved in a bingle at the High Street and Spring Street level crossing near Reservoir railway station and stopped to exchange their contact details.
One of the cars remained partially on the level crossing, a police spokeswoman said, and was clipped by a city-bound train about 9.10am.
The clipped car then hit one of the drivers, causing injuries to her back and hip and grazes to her skin.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital by ambulance and is in a serious condition.
A Metro spokeswoman said trains between Bell station and South Morang station would be replaced by buses until the intersection was cleared and trains could resume.
Meanwhile, there are delays on the Pakenham line after a woman was killed by a train.
The death of the woman, who was aged in her 50s, is not being treated as suspicious.
Buses are replacing trains between Berwick and Dandenong stations as a result.
Commuters are asked to listen to announcements or speak to Metro staff for updates.
