Investigators recently spent about four hours at Grigor Lawyers in Little Bourke Street following raids that resulted in the the arrests of a number of people across Melbourne.
Barrister Damian Sheales, for the firm whose principal lawyer is Alastair Grigor, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday following the raid on March 21.
Gerard Maguire, for Victoria Police, told deputy chief magistrate Jelena Popovic the parties hoped they could resolve the outstanding issues between them.
Mr Maguire said police sought the release of all material seized, and now sealed, during the search, which the firm claimed privilege over, be transported to the police e-crime unit.
The parties would then view it for the purpose of identifying any items or documents that may firstly be relevant to any alleged offending and, secondly, may be subject to a claim of client-professional privilege.
Mr Sheales said he had appeared because the "fairly huge" amounts of material seized was mostly beyond the scope of the search warrant.
Ms Popovic ordered that the items seized remain sealed until all practitioners attend the e-crime offices, and adjourned the hearing to a date to be fixed.
