On Thursday, more than 80 grades three and four pupils traveled to Melbourne for an excursion to the Queen Victoria Market, where they purchased the produce for today's picnic.
Family and friends of the pupils attended the picnic in the grade three/four Land of Learning centre.
Teacher Kate Stainer said the excursion had taught them lots of things, including managing and counting money, making links with others.
"It concludes a big term in the Land of Learning," Ms Stainer said.
"It was a fun way to conclude a big term one.
"They bought lots of fruit, dips and cheeses, food that many of the kids may not have tried before, things like pomegranate."
Ms Stainer said they would spend the afternoon playing traditional games including quoits, marbles and hoola hoops, before finishing off with an Easter egg hunt.
Pupil Billie said the excursion was the best day ever.
"As we went over the West Gate Bridge and saw the skyscrapers of Melbourne, our excitement levels hit a new high," Billie said in her speech.
