The Lal Lal teenager finished runner-up in her debut in the Australian Women’s MX Championships in Horsham at the weekend, falling short by just two points in the five-race event.
Aged just 16, it was Milesevic’s first time competing in the open women’s event, having twice been crowned national junior champion.
She finished second to Maddy Brown, who finished on 165 points, just surpassing Milesevic’s total of 163.
“I’m pretty happy with it. It would have been good to win but to do so well in my first open event was pretty pleasing,” Milesevic said.
Heading into the final of the five races on Sunday, Milesevic trailed Brown by seven points, having finished second in the first four races.
In an impressive display, she won the final race to attain the maximum 25 points.
However, Brown finished third, meaning Milesevic was subjected to second position on the podium.
“It’s still a good result. I’m pretty happy overall,” she said.
Milesevic said she would now turn her attention to the Victorian series and possibly look towards competing against men in the open national series.
