DARLEY'S boom recruit Anthony Chiu will front the AFL Goldfields Region Independent Tribunal tonight after being reported on Saturday.
Chiu, playing his first Ballarat Football League game for the Devils, allegedly struck Sunbury's Andrew Duhau and had his number taken by the controlling umpire at the time.
Video footage captured the incident, although Chiu was not cited by the match review panel.
The outcome is crucial for Darley, which unexpectedly dropped its opening fixture against Sunbury.
The Devils next match is against rivals Bacchus Marsh in a special Anzac Day fixture.
Also at the tribunal tonight, Gordon's Tye Murphy will contest a charge of striking Dunnstown's Kayle Mullane in a Central Highlands Football League fixture on Sunday.
