Mr Rattle, a prominent Melbourne-based interior designer, was found dead in his South Yarra apartment early on December 9 last year.
His partner, Michael O’Neil, 47, was charged with Mr Rattle’s murder in the days after his discovery.
Famous around the world for his interior designs, Mr Rattle bought the historic Musk Farm in 1998.
Half of the title is still in O’Neil’s name, while the rest of Mr Rattle’s estate was granted to one of his sisters by the Supreme Court in January.
Pat Rice and Hawkins selling agent Matt Childs said as well as the landmark Musk Farm, a neighbouring 30.8 hectare parcel of land would be auctioned.
A once-derelict school that dated from the 1870s, Musk Farm was transformed by Mr Rattle into a beautiful garden constructed as a series of rooms.
Musk Farm has regularly been opened to the public, its world-class botanic garden drawing tourists from far and wide, as well as featuring in several publications throughout Australia and the world.
The property across the road includes a barn, hayshed, cattle yards and a bore.
Mr Childs said the Musk Farm property was expected to sell for more than $1 million while the other property would be open to offers of more than $550,000.
He said both properties were listed last week, adding that Mr Rattle’s sister simply could not continue to maintain the properties.
“Twenty years he (Mr Rattle) spent creating it,” Mr Childs said.
The property will go under the hammer at 11am on May 31.
