WEATHER

Today we can expect a top of 14 degrees continuing the chilly weather we have experienced so far this week.

The light rain experienced this morning will clear as the day goes on, however, more rain is expected later in the afternoon.

POLICE

Police are investigating multiple minor fires that occurred overnight.

The first of the fires began in Sebastopol with a mattress set alight in the back shed of a property.

Around 5am another fire was lit in a bin closer to Ballarat

The Courier will have more information on these incidents as the day goes on.

FIRE

Firefighters were left chasing multiple minor fires overnight.

Leading firefighter Jarrod Howlett said fire crews attended all of the fires being investigated by police.

Mr Howlett said the fires were quickly extinguished.

AMBULANCE

Nothing to report from local paramedics.

TRAINS

Good service so far for the Ballarat line this morning. Commuters will be happy to know the much hyped Regional Rail Link Project is not too far away from having an impact on their services with Ballarat expected to see a benefit before the end of the year.
