WEATHER

A chilly day to the day today with a top of 10 degrees and a strong chance of rain later in the day, so take an umbrella if you are heading anywhere. 

We can expect some more showers tomorrow with similar conditions predicted. 

POLICE

Nothing of interest to report from local police overnight. 

However, police are searching for three youths after an altercation with a security guard at the Ballarat Railway Station on Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses at the scene said an altercation took place between the group and the security guard leaving him injured.

FIRE

Only the one call out for the night from Ballarat with crews called to the McCain Foods plant in Wendouree. 

An automatic alarm was set off in the plant. 

AMBULANCE

Nothing to report from local paramedics. 

TRAINS 

Trains are still being replaced by coaches as part of the Regional Rail Link upgrade. 

This means you should be allowing extra time to get to and from Melbourne.
