WEATHER

A top of just 9 degrees today - another freezing one. It should be partly cloudy, with a shower or two in the late morning.

We don't think think it will snow today (like yesterday), but you never know!

POLICE 

Local police had nothing of interest to report from over night.

The manhunt for Ararat escapee Andrew Darling was brought closer to Ballarat on Tuesday night after police were called to a Trawalla address with concerns he may be located there. Details.

FIRE

All was safe and sound around the city, despite a couple of false alarms caused by the weather.

Two crews were called to the Wendouree Performing Arts Centre, just after 6.30pm after an automatic alarm was triggered.

Three crews attended a building at Federation University Mt Helen campus just after 10pm.    

AMBULANCE

Paramedics attended no trauma incidents over night.

V/LINE

Coaches are currently replacing trains on the Ballarat line untill July 15.

Busses to Melbourne during morning peak times will depart earlier than normal train times.

Trains will continue to operate between Ballarat and Ararat.
