The Prime Minister is rightly angry on our behalf at Russia being apparently complicit in the deaths of these people who were "unfortunate" to be near a battle zone.
Any country that is complicit in the deaths of innocent civilians should be brought to justice.
It would be small wonder if friends and relatives of the innocent people killed became "radicalised" in their attitudes towards Russia and anyone else who is proved to be complicit.
However, we do find ourselves in a difficult position as we host, within our sovereign borders, a military facility called Pine Gap.
A military communications facility which we allow and assist to operate within our sovereign borders; a military communications facility that guides the drone/missile systems that have killed more than 2500 innocent people who were "unfortunate" to be in "battle zones" declared by the United States in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and Afghanistan "battle zones" within the sovereign borders of other countries and whose governments explicitly reject the use of drones/missiles within their sovereign borders.
Australia is complicit in the deaths of more than 2500 innocent people, in addition to the "legitimate" terrorist targets. Is it little wonder that friends and relatives of the innocent people became "radicalised" in their attitudes towards the United States of America and others who are complicit?
It is not OK to describe the deaths of innocent people as unfortunate "collateral" damage, be they from Australia, Holland or Pakistan.
Now is the time, Prime Minister, to close Pine Gap and end our complicity in the deaths of innocent people. Now is the time, Prime Minister, to take action against all those who are complicit in the deaths of innocent people and bring to "justice" everyone who is party to these murders.
Prime Minister, please maintain your rage on behalf of all innocent people who were unfortunate enough to be near "battle zones".
