The Coburg couple targeted in two drive-by shootings in the past two days have been embroiled in a bitter property dispute with gangland identity Danielle McGuire.

Workers arrived at The Rack Fashion Room in Munro Street on Saturday morning to find at least two bullet holes in the glass shopfront.
The shop is two doors from Vuda Hair Body and Beauty, which was peppered with bullets overnight on Thursday. It was the second time in as many weeks the salon had been shot at.
A report of a brick being thrown through the salon’s facade on July 23 was later confirmed by ballistics experts to be single-shot gunshot.
McGuire, a convicted drug dealer and former partner of Tony Mokbel and Bandidos sergeant-at-arms Toby Mitchell, was the driving force behind a bungled apartment development project in Essendon that has been tangled up in lawsuits for more than two years.
Walhan and Rima Kaake, owners of both the Coburg hairdressing salon and fashion shop peppered with bullets, invested and lost $50,000 with McGuire in the project.
Other participants in the off-the-plan development included bikie associate Savvacis Tsivicos, former Mokbel business parter Jacobus ‘‘Jack’’ Smit, and at least one other person with links to Melbourne's underworld.
McGuire lost control of the project in late 2012 and no money was ever recovered for investors, with losses estimated in the millions of dollars.
McGuire had been bashed by an unknown assailant outside the Mount Alexander Road property a few months before her development company became insolvent.
Police believe the drive-by shootings are most likely linked to several other incidents near the salon, including the assault of a 35-year-old Pascoe Vale woman on May 5. A woman has been charged over the assault.
Items were stolen from a car outside the salon on March 7 and the business was burgled on June 22.
