TONY Abbott's idea of Team Australia is very skewed.

Just about every Australian resident is a migrant (like Abbott and Gillard) or descendants of migrants.
Our Prime Minister exhorts us "to put this country, its interests, its values and its people first" and reminds thus that "you don't migrate to this country unless you want to join our team".
This is all very well if you are a descendant of the First Fleet and the Anglo-Saxon migrants that succeeded it.
People like Tony Abbott still head back to Oxford to be educated and try to keep the United Kingdom together by urging the Scots to vote no to a republic. In a sense, Mr Abbott is more loyal to Team Britain than Team Australia.
It is a very different thing for Australian residents whose skin is not white, whose first language is not English, whose preferred sport is not cricket, and whose church is not Christian.
They are not allowed to worry about civil wars in their homelands, where their relatives may be being murdered or raped.
I find it hypocritical that Mr Abbott expects Muslim Australians to show a more overt loyalty to Team Australia than he and other Anglophiles demonstrate.
