Ballarat children's theatre company Onyx Players have re-created the childhood classic with funds raised from the performances going towards charity Cops N Kids.
Theatre company owner Miranda Donald said everyone involved was happy to be a part of the fund raising event for Cops N Kids who hold a camp in Ballarat for families and children with life threatening illnesses.
"It suits us to be presenting entertainment for families while at the same time helping families in need," she said.
"As actors and producers we feel good about this and this creates a real cause behind each of our performances."
Ms Donald said this interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood added humour and excitement at every opportunity to make it enjoyable for both children and adults.
"This version has a wolf who is learning to be scary and a Little Red who is quite cheeky and feisty. Grandma is a real-hoot as she struggles with a cold and manages to sneeze over most of the audience. There is also dad and a magical narrator who adds an element of magic to the overall production."
"This production has many opportunities for children and parents to interact with what is happening on stage - calling out and clapping along is highly encouraged."
