MAY I congratulate and thank the Labor Party for the great effort in promoting the location of the Liberal Party state campaign office at the corner of Mair and Humffray streets for Liberal candidates Louise Staley (Ripon), Craig Coltman (Wendouree) and Ben Taylor, Buninyong.

The objection by Gary Fitzgerald and his Labor mates was a pathetic political stunt on their part and it failed miserably.
As for the council vote, I believe that both councillors Hudson and Coates are skating on very thin ice by not declaring their conflict of interest.
Mr Fitzgerald stated in The Courier on October 23 that "all parties must abide by the local laws". May I advise him, through The Courier, that a number of signs located around the electorate for his Labor mate Geoff Howard do not comply with local council guidelines yet both he and Cr Hudson have not spoken up about that. I wonder why?
Over the decades that I have been erecting and dismantling signs during election campaigns, I am always amused that it is the same old few who continue to want to rattle the tins and make a lot of noise.
We will continue to have damaged and graffiti-covered signs needing replacement, but I can assure readers that all temporary Liberal Party signs including the shopfront signs at the campaign office at the corner of Mair and Humffray streets will be removed following the election on November 29.
Election times come and go and I cannot understand why some people want to make so much fuss about temporary signs.
