Mo-bro Keegan FitzGerald has been growing a moustache for his third Movember, the only month of the year he sports the mo.
Mr FitzGerald, a physiotherapist, said health was a daily part of his life.
He said Movember began with a shave down event.
“The idea is, you start the month clean-shaven and generate conversation about men’s health, and grow your moustache over the course of the month,” he said.
Mr FitzGerald has organised a golf day fundraiser on the final day of November to help raise more money towards the cause.
“It’s a just day to have a bit of fun and support the cause. It doesn’t matter how skilled you are at golf, it should be a good day to come down meet some people and have a bit of fun,” he said.
Movember was started in Melbourne by a group of mates in 2003. At the end of 2013, $580 million had been raised for men’s health and the initiative is now in 21 countries worldwide.
