Ballarat’s Biggest Christmas Carnival Spectacular will start on Friday night, with all funds raised going to the 3BA Christmas Appeal.
Ballarat and District Trotting Club marketing and events manager Paul O’Donnell said that with a full night of harness racing, the carnival would be a great chance to bring the family for a fun night of entertainment.
“There are families doing it tough this time of year, but you can come here with $25, you can have something to eat and your kids can have 20 rides for $20,” he said.
“It’s great value and goes to a good cause.”
A live band will perform on the night, with dodgem cars, a mega jumping castle, big slide, carousel and mini ferris wheel to entertain children.
There will also be a chance to sit back and enjoy a movie on the big screen.
“With the appeal needing to be a huge success to ensure that our local welfare agencies and charities can adequately assist the rapidly escalating number of local families who will require assistance at Christmas time, to receive support of this type will provide an extremely valuable boost to the appeal,” 3BA Christmas Appeal director Peter Caligari said. “Which in turn will ensure that more than 4000 Ballarat area families will have something to look forward to at Christmas.
“These families are desperate; their hardship is extreme, and life is nothing more than an ongoing struggle.”
For every adult ticket bought, $4 will be donated to the 3BA Christmas Appeal.
