Wehrung has re-signed with Ballarat Rush for the 2015 South East Australian Basketball League season, returning to her home town from the Canberra Capitals.
Her signing comes a week after Rush announced it had secured Knox duo Shanae Greaves and Jess May from Women's National Basketball League club Melbourne Boomers.
Wehrung has been working up solid minutes in her debut WNBL season with the Capitals by seizing her opportunity on an injury-depleted roster.
"I have learnt so much and I'm still learning so much ... it's been really eye-opening for me and such a great experience," she said.
"(Greaves and May), their experience will be something we can draw from, especially in training.
"Having a couple more experienced players about that train hard and bring intensity will be good for the team and, hopefully, that carries through to our games."
Wehrung said family at home in Korweinguboora was a big part of her return to the MARS Minerdome, but she was also really keen to build on the progress Rush made as a team last season.
In her first full-time SEABL season, Wehrung was a key scorer with 13.5 points per game and averaging 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
Wehrung has played eight WNBL matches this season and has twice logged more than 20 minutes' court-time.
Fellow Rush young gun Kasey Burton has also been exposed to WNBL work this season as a training player with Melbourne Boomers, under former Ballarat Basketball elite performance manager Guy Molloy.
The Rush roster is all but complete.
Wehrung looked forward to testing how it would all piece together after an exciting SEABL off-season.
