Police are seaching for a man who fired four gunshots through the front foor of a Melbourne hotel earlier this week.

The man walked passed the Daveys Hotel on the Nepean Highway at Frankston about 10.40pm on Wednesday, police said.
"He approached a door to the function area and fired a handgun four times," Senior Constable Adam West said.
The gunman ran after firing the shots.
There was a woman in the hotel's back office at the time, but she was not injuried.
Police have released CCTV images from the hotel in a bid to find the gunman.
