On August 30 this year, my father James "Jim" Trainor passed away at the age of 88. He was a much loved man and I would like to let everyone know something about him.

He was born in Jeparit in 1925, the second youngest of nine children. He was 15 when they moved to Ballarat and he began work at the Cardboard Box Factory, then the Sunshine Biscuit Factory and finally at Vitclay. He married Frances in 1950 and they have two daughters, me (Margaret) and Patricia, who died tragically in 1989, and 10 grandchildren.
He was always a caring person, thinking of others. He joined the St. Vincent de Paul Society and became a valued member of the local group. He visited the residents in Nazareth House every fortnight, taking 120 bags of sweets he provided himself each time.
He made countless home and hospital visitations and attended many funerals on behalf of the Society. He was a hard working family man who always thought of others and has been missed greatly by his family and the Society.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the St. Vincent de Paul Society for their kindness and generosity to me during this difficult time.
I thank particularly Allen Moloney. They know how kind they have been. I thank also Juanita Bongiorno for her help at this time.
