A superb knock of 70 from opener Cole Roscholler propelled the Red Caps to 6-170 and a 45-run victory over Mornington Peninsula outfit Pines at Northern Oval in Ballarat on Sunday.
News of a potential location change away from the MCG for the final failed to impact the stellar all-round display, with Roscholler getting Wendouree off to the perfect start with eight fours and two sixes from just 43 balls.
Liam Brady contributed to a solid opening partnership with 28 off 24, but it was the work of Roscholler and Heath Pyke that set up the win.
Pyke hit three sixes on his way to 34 in a stand of 82.
The Red Caps' dominance with the bat saw them lose just one wicket until the end of the 15th over.
The Pines limited the damage late, dismantling Wendouree's middle order to take five wickets in the final five overs.
However, an equally impressive display with the ball saw the Red Caps bowl the Pines out for 125 in 17.2 overs.
Eamon Johnson starred with figures of 3-18, while Jordan Oliver, 2-12, Sam Peeters, 2-23, and and Brandon Weatherson , 2-30, all contributed to keep the Pines' run rate down.
Wendouree captain Matt Smith said he was pleased with what he described as a "team performance".
"We closed the game out really well when they continued to come at us," Smith said.
"The pressure of us taking wickets got to them in the end.
"The top three (batsmen) were great, but we lost a few wickets towards the end."
Smith and his side will have to wait another week to find out who they will be playing in the final.
The second-semi between Altona North and Bentleigh Uniting was washed out and is re-scheduled for next Sunday.
The switch of venue for the final is owing to South Africa playing India in a World Cup match at the MCG on February 22 - the same day of the State T20 final.
Smith said the side wass unaware if, or where, the match might would be relocated to.
"We're not sot sure what's going to happen
"We don't know much, other than it might go to Bendigo," he said.
