Asking the business community to place their trust in the new Labor government, the Premier said the review was part of the process of putting together the upcoming budget, expected mid-year.

"This is not another politically motivated audit, but a way for Queenslanders to see we will progress projects on key infrastructure projects to get the sector moving again," Ms Palaszczuk told the business leaders gathered at Queensland Parliament.

She told business leaders, from construction, engineering, housing, tourism, taxi and transport, academic and professional sectors, that this was part of Labor's approach to building consensus with the business sector, which generates 75 per cent of Queensland jobs.

Most of the directors-general of Queensland Government departments - who have been asked to apply for their jobs - were also at the meeting.

She promised to set up a Red Tape Advisory Council, another in a group of industry-specific advisory groups announced during the course of the month-long election campaign.

At the end of her speech, she promised to lead a government of consensus.

"It will be focussed of growing the economy, lowering our unemployment rate and supporting job creation," she said.

Ms Palaszczuk repeatedly said "our doors are open" to the business leaders.

"If you have a good idea, if you have a brand new innovation that will create jobs, I want to hear it, my ministers want to hear about it," she said.

Referring to the ousted Newman government, she promised "a change of direction" from the past three years.

"I don't want to see any more chaos, any more dysfunction," she said.

"I am placing my confidence in you, and I ask you to please ask you to place your confidence in me."

Ms Palaszczuk said Labor remained positive about the future of the Queensland economy.

"You won't hear us being negative about the economy'" Ms Palaszczuk said.

"We will not be negative and none of my ministers will make irresponsible comments."

Treasurer Curtis Pitt, Education Minister Kate Jones, State Development minister Dr Anthony Lynham, Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath, Agriculture Minister Bill Byrne, Energy Minister Mark Bailey, and Housing and Public Works Minister Leanne Enoch were at this morning's briefing.

Ms Palaszczuk repeated Labor's plans to establish Building Queensland to prioritise pipeline of infrastructure projects for Queensland.

She also noted that Queensland's economic growth was tipped by a recent Deloitte Access economics study to be 3.6 per cent, below the planned 5.7 per cent growth projected by the previous government.
