The 60th annual Ballarat-Eureka Apex Art Show was again held in conjunction with the Ballarat Begonia Festival with multiple artworks sold despite wintery weather conditions.
The Apex Club of Ballarat held an exclusive preview night on Friday with much of Ballarat's art society turning out for the special event.
Apex Club of Ballarat president Stuart Postlethwaite said considering the wet elements he was happy with how the night proceeded.
"Despite the weather, which wasn't ideal for an outside event, most of the crowd turned up," he said.-
"There were some good sales, with some of the top items sold."
The art show will continue into the long weekend with all donations and profits from artworks made over the three days donated to the Ballarat and District Suicide Prevention Network.
"We wanted to donate to something with a local spin, we've donated to the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute in the past and other local organisations, but we thought this was a good one," he said.
"Youth is a part of our ideals, while youth are not the only casualty of suicide, they make up a large part."
Mr Postlethwaite said he hoped more than $2000 would be raised at this year's art show.
Entry to the art show at the west side of Wendouree Parade is a gold coin donation.
The art show wraps up with the annual Begonia Festival on Monday.
