He has not run a place since winning at Morphettville two seasons ago.
When it comes to experience over the jumps though, Rabbuka is in a league of his own of those going around on the opening day of the Victorian jumps season in Ballarat on Tuesday.
Prepared by master jumps trainer Eric Musgrove, the 11-year-old fires up another campaign in the QLS logistics Steeplechase, 3200m.
He will be having his 32nd start over the jumps and, not surprisingly, has the top weight of 68.5kg as he tries to add to his six wins and 11 minor placings over the obstacles.
Rabbuka has had two flat runs, each at Benalla, since resuming work and has been given a hurdle and steeple trial by Musgrove to sharpen him up.
The steeplechase is the first of three jumps races to kick off a seven-race card at Sportsbet-Ballarat.
In a rarity, Urgent Fury will make his racing debut in the QLS logistics Maiden Hurdle, 3200m.
The 5yo is trained by Rick Freyer and has had the two hurdle trials at Cranbourne to prepare him for this outing.
This is not the first time Freyer has taken this path.
Platinum Snip also went straight to hurdling for his first race start, also in Ballarat, in May 2013.
Platinum Snip finished near last, but Freyer persisted and he saluted in a hurdle at Sandown four starts later
Freyer also saddles up Platinum Snip in Ballarat today in the QLS logistics Benchmark125 Hurdle, 3200m.
This will be his first race start since he failed to finish in a Sandown hurdle in June last year.
He runs into a handy field, which features the well-performed Jervois, who finished second in the Von Doussa Steeplechase at Oakbank last year; the consistent Beer Garden; and Gai Waterhouse-trained Valediction.
