Both the Canberra Raiders and the ACT Brumbies back the ACT government's plans to investigate a Canberra footy pass, which would give access to games and events at both Canberra Stadium and Manuka Oval.

Brumbies chief executive Michael Jones was "completely" behind the move for the multi-sport ticket and said he was working with the Raiders to  ensure a constant supply of football for the ACT.

Jones has already submitted his wish list to SANZAR for next year's Super Rugby season, which included seven afternoon home games and an Anzac Day clash with the Wellington Hurricanes at Canberra Stadium.

He said they would also try and play the Hurricanes in the pre-season trial in Wagga Wagga next year.

Next year will be the third year in a five-year plan to host Anzac Day games in Canberra.

After that Jones wanted to implement Barr's idea of a Capital-v-Capital Anzac fixture that alternated between the ACT and Wellington.

"We've bid for Anzac Day on the Monday, which will be the public holiday and the actual Anzac Day, to have an afternoon game," Jones said.

"We're trying to do that against the Hurricanes.

"We would love to have more afternoon games, so we've bid for seven afternoon games next year on the basis of we won't get them all so let's get as many as we can.

"It's just a much better solution doing afternoon games."

The Brumbies' stadium contract is up at the end of the year and one of the things hot on Jones's agenda is to end their competition with the government in selling corporate packages.

Currently both the Brumbies and Canberra Stadium sells corporate packages for the venue, taking valuable revenue away from the Super Rugby province.

"I'm supportive of any initiative that gets people back to games because we're all suffering the same thing," Jones said.

"I don't know why, [but] there's a lethargy to attend games at the moment.

"The stadium sells corporate experiences against us and we don't like that.

"We've already spoken to the ACT government and I think that the Raiders are the same, they'd prefer to sell their own corporates."

Raiders chief executive Don Furner said he'd also meet with the government about their stadium contract.

He'll continue to push for a new indoor Civic Stadium, which has been put back due to the Mr Fluffy asbestos debacle, because it's become "stale" out at Bruce.

Furner was in favour of anything that would help bring back the crowds and he felt a Canberra footy pass would help.

He said the concept wasn't a new one and had been explored in the past.

Furner said because the NRL fixture was done after Super Rugby's and the AFL's, the Raiders always tried to ensure there were no clashes in Canberra.

Top of his wish list for 2016 was more Sunday afternoon games - this season they have one and three Saturday afternoon games, with their final three home matches yet to be allocated.

"I'm more than happy to explore anything that will get more crowds through the gate," Furner said.

"We need more crowds out there, because they've been a bit disappointing.

"We'd love to have Sunday games in the afternoon in winter, we'd love that."
