If anything, it’s the perfect trifecta, according to lead singer David Crowe.
Joined by drummer Nicholas Hart and Heather Thomas on base, the grungerock trio has moved over the past four years through the Melbourne music scene collecting many followers.
“Nick and I have been friends for ages and we’ve played in a few bands over the years.
We decided we wanted to take a stripped-down approach most recently, which lead to the idea of keeping it a simple three-piece,” Crowe said.
“I had a specific idea for a male/female vocal dynamic, so we eventually found Heather and the rest is history.”
Since the release of their EP I Am Scum And Nobody Should Love Me, the band has graced the stage in support of Adalita, proving to Melbourne gig-goers the trio is here for the long run.
“Playing live is definitely my main focus, so I’ve been pretty happy that we’ve been playing shows almost non-stop since putting the EP out,” Crowe said.
“If we can play a show and win over just one more person, then that’s a good show in my books.”
Speaking about the EP which they will perform from at their performance at The Eastern, Crowe said being honest and doing what came naturally was the key to a different sound this time around.
Crowe said the trio was looking forward to returning to The Eastern this month for a second time.
“The Eastern is a great little venue. It has a very relaxed vibe, almost like a lounge room setting, so it kind of feels like you’re playing at someone’s house,” he said.
