Earlier:
THE old Damascus College site has gone up in flames twice in one week.
Emergency services were called to the Victoria Street structure on Wednesday morning about 1am.
It took 30 fire fighters about an hour-and-a-half to contain the blaze, which tore through parts of the disused building.
Ballarat City leading fire fighter Brenton Smith said Wednesday night’s fire broke out in a different part of the school to the suspicious July 1 fire.
Both fires are believed to have started about 1am.
Mr Smith could not say whether there was a link between the two fires, but said police and fire investigators would try and determine the cause this morning.
The scene remained under police guard overnight.
Seven trucks from Ballarat City, Ballarat, Sebastopol and Buninyong responded to the incident.
