While it remains unclear what changes will be made, the review comes after feedback provided by Ballarat commuters.
“V/Line has committed to a full review of the new timetable on the Ballarat line,” V/Line spokesperson Ebony Jordan said.
“We’ve listened to their concerns and every member of the team is working to deliver the service levels our customers deserve and expect.
“While the full review is underway, we’ve made some temporary changes to help improve performance.
“We’ve also been adding new carriages to the Ballarat line since June 21, to help meet demand on particularly busy services.”
Ms Jordan would not disclose details of the review, but said commuters will be advised once it has been completed.
Public Transport Miniser Jacinta Allan, speaking to The Courier on Monday, described the current Ballarat line as “still not where it should be”, but said the reliability of the services were slowly improving.
Two brand new carriages will be added to Ballarat services next week, with the 7.17am from Wendouree to Southern Cross and 4.33pm from Southern Cross to Wendouree both benefiting.
Ms Allan said that while morning services appear to be improving, the afternoon services returning to Ballarat remain a problem.
“I think vigilance is required on all those services, but the afternoon is particularly challenging,” she said.
