A NEW take on the old Ballarat cemetery has scored one local photographer the top prize in the Through My Eyes Photography competition.

Victor Sepanow won the overall prize and in the ‘places’ category in the competition, for his aerial shot of the old Ballarat Cemetery, in a ceremony on Saturday.
Samantha Crebbin won the Young Photographer award for her image ‘Ballarat weather’ and Michael Watson won a prize in the ‘faces’ category for his image of Craig.
More than 300 photographers entered the competition run by the Ballarat Foundation, which is held every two years.
Judges included photographers Peter Kervarec and Aldona Kmiec and City of Ballarat councillor Belinda Coates.
The competition coincides with the Ballarat International Foto Biennale this year.
The three winning photos from each category will be on display on the top level of Central Square Shopping Centre in Ballarat.
The ten finalists from each category will also have their work displayed.
