6pm A 41-year-old Haddon man who suffered life threatening injuries after he hit his head on the rear tray of moving ute in Windermere remains at the Alfred Hospital.
The man was airlifted in a critical condition at 12.30am on Saturday morning.
A hospital spokeswoman said the man’s condition had been updated from critical to stable.
Officers from the major collision unit were investigating the incident.

A Haddon man who suffered life threatening injuries after he hit his head on the rear tray of a moving ute in Windermere overnight has been airlifted to a Melbourne hospital.
The 41-year-old man was airlifted from Ballarat to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition following the incident at Windermere about 12.30am on Friday night.
Police were called to Remembrance Drive, near Madden Road, and were told the man was attempting to get onto the rear tray of the utility when he fell and hit his head.
The 29-year-old male driver, also from Haddon, was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody and is assisting Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives with their enquiries.
