This year’s senior C-grade women’s side took out the club’s best result at the Adelaide-hosted 2015 Australian Masters Games, finishing just 0.01 of a second short of a gold medal.
The team of 10 paddlers, a sweep and a drummer, was part of the biggest contingency the club has brought to an interstate meet.
Formed three years ago, Golden Dragons Ballarat now boasts a membership of 50, including men and women of all ages and a newly formed junior team.
Many of the paddlers are also cancer survivors.
In other results, the senior A-grade over-40 squad won each of its heats, placing fifth out of 26 teams in its class.
Meanwhile, the senior B-grade over-50 team and senior C-grade 22-member crews both placed sixth in their respective positions.
Golden Dragons Ballarat competed in its first Masters games two years ago at Geelong. Officials hope to include more male members before the next Masters games in Tasmania in 2017.
