Each time Golden Point has had a century-maker this season, it has landed the points.
And with another two at the City Oval on Saturday, there have now been six of them in four rounds.
The exception was against Wendouree in round three, when the Red Caps dominated with the bat.
Determined to bounce back from that hiccup, Golden Point went on another run spree with 4-385 at the expense of the Two Swords.
This time it was the turn of Dwayne Hiscock and Simon Ogilvie to lead the charge with centuries against an undermanned Ballarat-Redan attack. Hiscock batted well into the second session, reaching 163 as the mainstay of the innings - his first hundred since 2012-13.
His runs came off 198 balls in 226 minutes. More than 100 of his runs came in boundaries - 18 fours with seven sixes.
Hiscock put on 39 with Andrew Falkner, 15, at the top of the order, but it was with Josh White, 43 (5 fours) that the damage began to be done. They added 117 on almost 90 minutes in the first of three innings-building stands.
Hiscock had a 128-run stand for the third wicket with Simon Ogilvie, who became the match's second century-maker. Ogilvie made 114 not out (11 fours, 3 sixes) off 126 balls in 153 minutes.
Then if this was not enough, he joined forces with Sammy Jayantha, 39, in a 94-run partnership as Ballarat-Redan rotated its attack in bid to stem the tide.
This is Ogilvie's second century this season, having made 104 in the opening round against North Ballarat.
Ballarat-Redan was well aware of Golden Point’s batting strength going into this crucial match for it and the need to restrict it.
While Ballarat-Redan importantly regained spearhead Simon Allan back from injury, it did not get an opportunity to throw what it hoped would be a potent new ball combination at Golden Point with recruit Brendan Thomson not playing. Chris Egan opened up and toiled away for 2-79.
