Traffic is moving again on Toorak Road after heavy delays caused by a fatal motorcycle crash on Tuesday afternoon.

Police have been told the man was riding west on Toorak Road when he collided with an east-bound car about 2pm.
The man suffered life-threatening injuries and paramedics attempted to revive him but he died at the scene, police said.

The road was closed for nearly three hours between Glenferrie Road in Kooyong and Henderson Avenue in Malvern, at the entrance to Monash Freeway, causing peak hour chaos.
VicRoads said while all lanes were open at about 5.40pm, some delays were still expected.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
