The nine-year-old is preparing for a tilt at the Australian Junior Motocross Championships, which starts on Saturday in Coolum, Queensland.
Rich, the reigning Victorian 50cc division two 7-9 years champion, is following in the footsteps
of his father Nathan.
Nathan was twice a state title holder and also competed at the national championships in both juniors and seniors during his career.
The pair also share the same racing number of 46.
Hunter said he was hoping to ride well at the upcoming championships and had distinct goals for the future.
“I want to go to America to do the world titles,” he said.
Hunter, a member of both the Ballarat Rovers Motorcycle Club and Alma Maryborough and District Motocross Club, began riding at home when he was two-years-old.
His younger brother Seth and older sister Paris also have an interest in the sport.
“I like motocross, especially clearing jumps and going fast,” Hunter, who idolises Australian
rider Chad Reed, said.
Hunter is a grade three pupil at Miners Rest Primary School.
