They first pulled over the 27-year-old on Lonsdale Street on Monday afternoon after noticing dark tinted windows on his car that made it un-roadworthy.

He tested positive for ice and was found not to have a driver's licence.

Police warned the Bayswater man about his driving and slapped a defect notice on his Audi TT coupe, then sent him on his way.

But a few hours later they spotted the same Audi TT couple going along Russell Street, its defect label since scraped off.

They pulled him over again, he tested positive for ice again and was found not to have a driver's licence again.

This time he was taken to the police station for a slightly sterner chat.

He is expected to be charged on summons for unlicenced driving (twice), drug driving (twice) and driving an unroadworthy vehicle (twice).

He will also be charged with one count of disobeying a direction not to drive and one count of removing a defect label.
