A 49-year-old man has been nabbed driving his daughter to school in North Melbourne while more than three times over the legal limit.

The Coburg man was pulled over on Sutton Street for driving an unregistered vehicle and he tested positive for alcohol about 7.50am.
He was taken to the Melbourne North Police Station where he blew 0.169 in an evidentiary breath test.
The man had his car impounded for 30 days and is expected to be charged on summons for drink driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
