The initiative was the result of the highly anticipated regional review undertaken by former premier John Brumby.
The idea behind the partnerships involves breaking the state down into a number of specific regions which then have a set of representatives who will then have direct contact with the Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford.
Those interested in applying are expected to have a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing their region.
Ms Pulford said it was a great opportunity for passionate locals to represent their region.
“These roles present an opportunity to collaborate with your community, identify regional priorities, influence government and positively shape the outcomes of your region,” she said. Residents interested should visit www.getonboard.vic.gov.au.
